WHO WE ARE Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is a growing group of emergency veterinary hospitals with 5 locations across the Midwest. Our goal is pretty simple: keep expanding into communities that need us most, especially places where pet parents don’t have access to 24/7 emergency vet care. Because emergencies don’t exactly care what time it is. We’re here 24/7 to give pets and their people the care they need when they need it most. WHAT LIFE IS LIKE AT EVCC At EVCC, we genuinely care about the people and pets who walk through our doors — whether that’s a sick or injured pet, their stressed-out pet parent, or one of our own team members. We’re veterinarian-led, which means our DVMs actually have a voice. EVCC was started by 36 local general practice veterinarians, and most of them are still involved with the company today. That collaborative, team-first mindset is a huge part of who we are. And honestly, emergency veterinary medicine can be intense. It’s rewarding, exciting, and meaningful, but it’s definitely not always easy. That’s why we make taking care of our people a priority, too. We invest in our teams through continuing education, career growth, leadership opportunities, and a work environment where you can actually feel supported. REPORTS TO Regional Operations Director of Michigan THE ROLE As a Hospital Manager at EVCC Saginaw, you’ll be one of the key people making sure the hospital runs smoothly — while also helping our team grow, succeed, and feel supported. You’ll: Lead day-to-day hospital operations and team development while keeping patient care, efficiency, and an awesome client experience at the center of it all. Make sure your team has the tools, training, and support they need to do their jobs well. Own scheduling, conflict resolution, performance management, coaching, and professional development. Work closely with different teams to help make smart financial decisions, solve client and referral partner concerns, and keep the hospital moving forward. Help create an environment where people want to show up, do great work, and grow their careers. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Make sure the team has the resources, support, and tools they need to succeed. Help identify process improvements that make the hospital more efficient and sustainable. Build and manage schedules based on patient flow, staffing, and hospital needs. Partner with other departments and the Medical Director on operations, purchasing, and strategic planning. Help guide financial decisions and recommend equipment and supplies when needed. Lead through change while building a culture centered around teamwork, accountability, and great service. Own onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching for team members. Complete annual performance reviews and create individualized development plans. Help resolve team and client concerns with empathy, communication, and good old-fashioned problem solving. Recruit, retain, and develop great people by creating meaningful opportunities for growth. Split your time between clinical and administrative responsibilities, with at least 50% of your time focused on administrative work. This may flex depending on hospital size, staffing, and number of direct reports. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR You don’t need to check every single box, but we’re looking for someone who has: 2+ years of leadership experience, ideally in veterinary medicine or healthcare. An associate degree or an equivalent combination of college coursework and experience. Emergency veterinary experience is a plus. A servant-leader mindset — someone who leads by supporting, listening, collaborating, and helping their team grow. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Great organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without completely losing your mind. The ability to adapt quickly and hit deadlines, even when things get busy. Professionalism and the ability to work comfortably with people at every level of the organization. A commitment to working at least 40 hours per week on-site. Flexibility to help meet the needs of the hospital, including occasional evenings, weekends, or after-hours coverage when needed. THE GOOD STUFF — COMPENSATION + SUPPORT We believe taking care of our people is just as important as taking care of our patients. Here’s what you can expect: Competitive compensation based on experience and industry benchmarks. Healthcare benefits starting Day 1. Comprehensive vision and dental coverage. 401(k) with a 4% company match. Short- and long-term disability and life insurance. A high technician-to-DVM ratio. Competitive CE allowance because your growth matters. Veterinary care discounts for your own pets. Flexible scheduling designed to support an actual work-life balance. Referral rewards — because your friends deserve a great workplace too. Tons of room to grow your career with EVCC. If you’re looking for a leadership role where you can make a real impact, support an amazing team, and help pets when they need it most, we’d love to hear from you. Questions?
